Well a week later I am finally getting this amazing recipe on the blog, wow what a week. So lets begin another with this excellent recipe. You can’t go wrong with a recipe when it includes Peanut Butter Chips, Chocolate Chips and M & M’s. Plus the cookie base is a PEANUT BUTTER cookie. This cookie cake is a tasty twist to both cookies and a cake.
So upon looking for a unique twist to the traditional cupcakes or cake for my Father-in-laws birthday, my kids and I remember how much grandpa loved our cast iron skillet chocolate chip cookie. So with the same thing in mind we searched for a something similar, not knowing what we would come up with. We narrowed it down to two and ended with this recipe, I am sure at some point I will make the other one. To put my own twist on the cookie cake I used baking mini m & m’s, mini chocolate chips and peanut butter chips all baked in a 10 inch spring form pan. The end result is a gooey goodness!
These go so fast in my house, I only got pictures of them still in the pan and the other pan went to my in-laws. Let me tell you, my kids and husband LOVE these sweet gooey cinnamon biscuits. The biscuits are fluffy and the cinnamon filling is divine.
To make these is quite simple, but it does get messy. The trick to the biscuits is using a large cookie scoop and generously flouring your hands(like a gymnast does when she preparing for her bar routine). Scoop the biscuit onto your flowered hands working it back and forth until the dough is no longer sticky, 3-4 time, then plop it into the baking pan. Continue with this process until the all the dough is used up. The biscuits will touch in the pan.
The second thing to these delicious biscuits is getting the filling into the biscuit. The trick I found was using a condiment bottle, you can stick the tip right into the dough and squeeze the filling until you see it coming up to the top. Also make sure when you are making the filling there are no lumps, as these lumps will clog up the squeeze bottle.
Per my earlier post, it’s no lie I like Valentine’s Day. I like to give them all a special, thought out gift. In the past I have given them treats that I do not normally buy and my husband a nice button down shirt. But I came across this 5-Guys Burgers and Fries Valentine one day while searching around pinterest. Although I changed the saying, it turned out perfect. So I decided to stay with the restaurant theme and treat my kids with a gift card as well.
I used my FAVORITE site again, PicMonkey to create my Valentines.
Valentines day is a CUTE day to celebrate your appreciation for EVERYONE. To me it is not just for you love(significant other), but for your sister, mom, brother, dad, children, friend really anyone who you have a deep appreciation for. Working in a school, I have a HUGE appreciation for teachers. So for my kids teachers I like to send them special things through out the year, and Valentines Day is no exception.

I believe hockey is in the blood, you got to love it to put up with all there is to raising a hockey player. Growing up the youngest of three I was dragged to all my siblings sporting events. Hockey is what my older brother played. I knew if I ever had children I wanted a hockey player. Hockey is a sport everyone in the family has to commit too.
My oldest is 18 and plays hockey for the Varsity team. He plays other sports too, but hockey is by far his passion. He is competitive and self motivated to improve. His biggest competition is himself because he is always striving for improvement. I am very blessed with a hard-working individual, I get to call my son.As he is nearing the end of his senior year of hockey, it is time to honor the gentlemen for all their dedication, leadership and friendship. I wanted it to be special not just for him but for the 6 teammates he has come to know very well for over a decade. There is nothing stronger then their hockey bond.
To decorate these cupcakes for the hockey theme, I used Mini York Peppermint Patties, I piped the jersey numbers on with melted white chocolate which I added Wilton Icing Color too. The hockey stick is a rolled out Tootsie roll, although they turned cute. But if were to make these again I would use Pretzel sticks and stick them together with melted chocolate. I wanted the hockey stick to stand upright which at first it was not, they would wilt back onto the cupcake. So I had to get creative and I piped a thin line of the melted white chocolate on the back to add as support, then used the chocolate as glue to the cupcake.
I fell in love with this baseball bag when I pinned it months ago. Not just for me but also for my kiddos teachers who also love the game. So with this in mind, I set out to recreate it. The end result is a stunning snack bag perfect to cheer on our boys of summer:)
