1/2 Marathon #5 and Marathon #2

I am 5 days away from my 5th Half Marathon and decided to keep training for a Full Marathon.  These are not easy decisions..they go something like this.

I am fairly confident to train and run a 1/2 marathon.  It is always easier to train with someone as the long runs can get lonesome. But the decision to run a full marathon is a little different conversation.  Having completed one marathon, I know want I am getting into and I want to help someone else achieve this goal.

I have been following the Hal Higdon Intermediate 1/2 Marathon Training program and will continue on to follow the Hal Higdon Novice 2 Marathon Training program picking up at week 6.  I have really like the 1/2 marathon training schedule because it allows for light lifting and 2 rest days. The Marathon program is similar as it allows for cross training and 2 rest days.  The rest days are important not only for your body to rest but it provides flexibility in the training.  I will be updating my weekly progress as I count down the weeks to my second marathon.

So here is to 12 more weeks of training.
